The Readability Level of Arabic Textbook “Silsilah Fī Ta’līm al-Lughah al-‘Arabiyyah”

The purpose of this study was to know the readability level textbook "Silsilah Fī Ta’līm al-Lughah al-‘Arabiyyah: Al-Mustawā Ats-Tsāniy, Al-Qirā`ah", and factors affecting in terms word class tendencies linguistic findings. This also analyzed reading ability first-semester Arabic students at Universitas Negeri Jakarta types texts recommended for use or further development by other researchers. research carried out using descriptive qualitative methods, data were collected from 83 who enrolled Qirā`ah course. Readability analysis techniques Cloze Procedure Test. showed that textbooks 46% frustration 29% moderate level. tendency make errors generally occur 1) 27% perfect verbs, 2) 24% nouns, 3) 16% imperfect verbs. Other are Reader Factor: about 43% Language Education Department come general/vocational high schools, 35% Islamic school, only 22% boarding schools; Reading writers native speakers rely on their experience culture presenting text regardless readers as foreign speakers. Book book lacks vocabulary illustrations form pictures, so it less helpful independent understanding.
